Melanie J Nordstrom, LCSW Executive Director Individual, Family & Group Counselor

Melanie J. Nordstrom founded Community Life Concepts of Southern Illinois, NPC (CLC) in 2001, and she serves as the executive director. In addition to her administrative duties, she provides professional counseling. She began serving alongside her husband on the pastoral team at Christ Community Church in 1993 and continued in the same capacity starting in 2012 at Life Church in Knoxville, TN, after a relocation.

Melanie is also affiliated with Counseling Connections in Knoxville where she serves as an educational counselor assisting nontraditonal students to access resources to complete college degrees. She also provides individual, marriage and family therapy at both Counseling Connections and at our corporate offices at 1015 Cedar Lane.

Melanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who graduated from University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Social Work and Certificate in Theology. Her work history includes working in homeless missions, starting social service departments for church congregations and local health agencies, extensive case management, counseling, working with HIV/AIDS patients, working with children in church & community settings and coordinating drama events for local church congregation. Melanie is a mother of three children and has a passion to serve hurting people and to help churches get more involved in the communities they serve.

 

Margaret Fink, Grant Manager

Margaret Fink cofounded and directs both Community Kids and Transfiguring Adoption, branches of CLC which both focus on bringing healing to foster, adoptive, and relative caregiver families. Margaret Fink herself is a foster/adoptive parent of four children. She has a BA in Psychology and has used her training to lead mentoring groups, coordinate state funded programs for at risk teens, and do grant writing.
